Love Birds & Great Words

I bought two birds over the weekend. Autumn colored birds of brown, red, and blue, each composed of heavy concrete, are perched on my kitchen table. I like to imagine that they are love birds, singing "I'm in love! I'm in love! And I don't care who knows it!" (Buddy the Elf, in the movie. . .what for it. . . Elf). They are beautiful and make our little apartment feel like a safe, cute, homey place to rest and relax. Thank you Tuesday Morning!

Fall. . . I can't resist the oncoming of the holiday season and the enchantment of autumn.  The colors, the crisp chill in the air, the bonfires, and cozy warm homes remind me of a feeling of wonder I experienced as a child at the onset of autumn. This fall season strips back the layers of my heart to reveal a deep yearning for home and the faces of people I love, Tennessee and the delta fields, hills, and rivers that make it beautiful and mysteriously savage and unruly. In the meantime, I wait in eager anticipation for the holidays and familiar faces and hugs to greet me.

I can't resist the urge to present you with some fall and winter movie trivia since I mentioned Buddy the Elf. So comment and name the movie for the following great quotes:

1)"'You're my best friend, Copper.'... 'You're mine too, Todd"
2) "These mashed potatoes are so creamy!" (Hint: Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman are in this one)
3) ""But the children love the books!" (Think nun)
4) "Fransisc-O.... Fransisc-O... "
5) "'F-O-X' ... 'Very good! Can you spell dog?'... 'F-O-X'"

Just some fun for now. I'll post answers later. Have fun! Happy Fall Friends!

  2. What cute little birds. They are very you, and yet remind me a bit of Nanny, too (Remember her collection of porcelain birds, etc?).
