The Adventures of Blake and Jen

As most of you know, Blake has been on an epic quest for the past two and a half years to take possession of a seemingly elusive treasure. Indiana Jones, Mr. Fredricksen and Russell, Jack Sparrow, and Frodo Baggins have proved inspirational to both Blake and I on this journey to find the Lost Ark. (Oh wait. . . . wrong story.) On Blake's journey towards his Master of Divinity (M.Div.). The terrain was rough and the byways treacherous at times as we encountered illnesses, a band of brigands, snow, floods, and wind storms. Still we persevered until we obtained a nice quiet space to call our own in the rental district of Louisville, Kentucky. We came to this land seeking opportunities and opportunities we have had. Blake came to this city with a vision to accomplish the first stage of a process that will enable him to teach church history to university students. His vision has been the source of great joy and pain as we trudged through life's experiences.

Today I am so proud of Blake who is one step closer to graduating later this year. He has completed the most challenging semester of his academic career up to this point and is racing down the home stretch now with only two more semesters to go. So today I am taking a chance to publicly cheer him on just as we have cheered on our dear Chicago Cubs through the wind and the rain of seasons past. All I can say is "Run, baby! Run!"

Stay tuned for new scenes from our next episode of The Adventures of Blake and Jen. . .
Until next time kids, remember to drink your Ovaltine.
